Subject4:  Spec section 17000, 1.1 A 4a
Question: Spec section 17000, 1.1 A 4a states “The reservoir level value shall exactly match the value displayed by the Canary Systems web site without further compensation.”. This is virtually impossible to achieve with the multiple conversions happening with this signal. Can we strike this language from the specification? If needed MWRDGC could apply an allowable error percentage to the reading that is displayed at the Stickney WRP Control Room when compared to the Canary Systems web site, I would propose < 5% of full scale. For reference, here is a list of some of the compounding error values for the specified devices needed to transmit this signal back to the Stickney plant. The analog output card from Campbell Scientific, SDM-CV04, has a stated accuracy of ±0.15% of full scale range + (±5 µA). The Phoenix Contact AI card has a precision of = 0.02 % (at 25 °C). The Phoenix Contact AO card has a precision of = 0.02 % (at 25 °C) and a resolution of 16 bits. The Rockwell AI card has an accuracy of ±0.35% full scale at 25°C and a 14 bit resolution. And this isn’t including any temperature drift, non-linearity, repeatability, or other possible transmission errors.
